Can regular perfume/cologne attract the opposite sex?

I'm not talking about a special "pheromone" perfume, just a regular perfume spray (e.g. Burberry, Calvin Klein...).

And do all perfumes/colognes contain pheromones?

Answer 1:

Perfume is not what attracts. Do you think you could take an ugly girl and spray her down enough so she would be the center of attention over a knock-out with no perfume? The perfume industry has sold most of you a bill of goods.

Answer 2:

Love spell by victoria secert( for women to use)
Or another thing to attract a guy is a vanilla, pumpkin pie, or other food like that scent.( seen it on Tyra)

Answer 3:

As long as you don't bathe in it. Use a little bit.

Answer 4:

Depends on the other person's taste. Go with a perfume/cologne that goes well with your chemistry. Try a couple and see what you get. Save some money by trying small samples before buying the whole thing.

Answer 5:

that one person above has a point that perfume can't make an ugly girl more attractive than a knock out without perfume...however, the ugly girl is more attractive than she was before and if the knock out wore a nice perfume, she would be even more of a knockout...and like the other person above me stated, yes//food scents such as cinnamon do arrouse men(proven)
well...just take care not to over do it or use gross smells
good luck
xao:)

Answer 6:

Oh yes definately? Its an added plus to the physical attraction...it can be seduactive and luring....

Answer 7:

A big no, good manners, pleasant nature, and character are some things which attract opposite sex.

Answer 8:

I think so, a man that smells good, is always a plus, and makes me more attracted to them. but it depends, cuz some colognes smell good and some dont.

Does pheromone parfumes really attract women?

Does commercially available pheromone perfumes really attract women? Is any study available upon this?

Answer 1:

I have direct experience with this issue. The answer is absolutely yes. You have to get a legitimate product though (alot of scam artists out there unfortunately. The best place to buy them is Androtics Direct:

http://www.androticsdirect.com/home.php

Here is a basic FAQ that explains what the various pheromones do:

http://www.pheromonetalk.com/mens-pherom...

However, telling you that these things work isn't the same as proving that they do. For that, you need to try them and see this for yourself. Androtics Direct sells small "togo" bottles of many of their products. For a measly $12, get a small bottle of their Ammunition product. Probably the best stand alone pheromone cologne that exists currently, that bottle is enough to test this out for a couple of weeks at least. Doing this will remove all doubt about the matter for very little investment.

Answer 2:

No, they don't. Pheronomes work in moths and other lower animals, not humans. The only research showing evidence for pheronomes is women living together in dorms and in the military....their periods begin to occur at the same time after living together for 3 months...evidence for pheronomes.....the scent that attracts men to women is the smell of "apple pie". (college psych prof)

Answer 3:

I doubt it, human beings have long since evolved from that stage. We don't pick out mates based purely on pheromone levels like other more primitive animals, we choose out mates in a much more complex manner that includes factors such as confidence, the status quo physical image, fashion,...

Answer 4:

On some basic level i would imagine that it would arouse some level of awareness within a woman/man.

Can really the male pheromone perfume seduce women?

Pheromones studies have shown they heighten interest, but they are not magic, you still need to have a good personality. Check out http://www.pheromones-store.com

Answer 1:

Research on this is doubtful; at least it is in humans, because there are so many different factors that go into human social interactions. It's just too complicated!

However, some research has suggested there is a pheromone in male sweat (androstadienone) that women find attractive while ovulating, and find repulsive when they are not ovulating.

The best-studied pheromonal effect in humans is "the McClintock Effect": women living in proximity to each other eventuall synchronise their menstrual cycles. Obvuiously, this doesn't particularly help men get lucky ;-)

Do most perfume shops sell pheromone perfumes?

Love Potion #9 doesn't exist. Pharamones are given off by human sweat -- it's that musky smell when you forget to put on deoderant. Not quite B.O., but definitely musky. Perfume is the pretty scent of choice that people put on to hide it. That's why pharamones are so intimate -- guys have to get close in order to be affected.
